Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his first trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a torrid year, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with former coach his previous coach.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks his maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court from spring of the previous year.

The win also means the Russian has won 21 titles at 21 distinct events.

"For the first time I have attended a competition with my children together, so to get a championship is particularly special," said ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, including in that event previously this season.

His retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had caused commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the top level was over.

However the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an improved service.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the concluding five games to go ahead.

Both players traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.

Moutet rescued 4 initial chances in a close final set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a point at the net, with his opponent unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
